KEITH, one thing i could tell you is, read the KERNEL GUIDE, which’ll tell you to install heimdall. use zadig.exe to install the drivers for your android that you need to run superoneclick, which is the famouse “one click rooting” app. thats why superoneclick freezes when you try to “one click root”. then see if its rooted. to find out, go to APPLICATIONS. if you see an app called “Superuser” your rooted! once you do that, refer back to the kernel-heimdall rooting guide, and flash the custom kernel so that you can overclock your android.

I wish I could dislike this. Not seeing anything that every “how to root” guide doesn’t tell you. You’re 2 fav apps come with revoked’s installer (or similar enough I’m not wasting time downloading them, letting alone wasting money). Actually, are you the one getting paid for these paid apps?
I was under the impression everyone knew rooting gave you screen shots and full file access (isn’t that the main reason to do it?) A useful guide would include the less common benefits of rooting, or at least more than 2.

With new phones coming out every day, there’s a good chance one’s sniffer might not catch all phones. So, I agree ‘Head Honcho’, that using a ‘View Mobile Version’ is also a good idea!

Thanks for nailing the details to the wall. Like the music industry allows for many points of distribution; CD, MP3, RADIO, XM, etc… so to should the website allow users to make a choice as to how they want to view content. That said, I recommend using both the JS and “View Mobile Version” for users.

Hey Jerry; glad the post was able to point you in the right direction. I was amazed last night when I was able to download a shell application on my new Android phone and manipulate my VPS from it…pretty wild!

In regard to your question about your client and her non-profit: Check out Yammer when you get a moment. It’s basically like a private twitter setup for organizations that allows you to tag notes, upload files & photos, and comment on posts. I’ve looked at integrating it for some of my clients in the past but haven’t found the best way to use it yet. Alternately, you could always commission a custom-built plugin or look into the ‘post by email’ feature built in to the WordPress core. (Also, Tumblr may be a viable option depending on the level of sophistication needed.) Let me know what you decide!
